easyJet selects Goodrich Wheels and Brakes and Services for New A320 family

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Goodrich Corporation (NYSE: GR) has entered into an agreement with easyJet to provide wheels and brakes and services for a new A320 family of aircraft. The fleet will consist of 120 firm and 120 optional aircraft with entry into service beginning in 2003. According to Jennifer Pollino, President Aircraft Wheels & Brakes, "This contract represents one of the largest combined product and services agreement within the European marketplace. The key to winning was our ability to provide a comprehensive range of aerospace products and services. Our wheel and brake services facility in Hatfield, U.K. close to easyJet's bases in Luton and Stansted, will be providing service support." "easyJet's decision demonstrates a confidence in both the products and services Goodrich can offer. As a result of this success, a number of Goodrich divisions will benefit through the provision of spare parts, rotable support services and on-going MRO activities," Pollino continued. easyJet Airlines was established in 1995 with the goal of offering low- cost scheduled air services within Europe. Since it's first flight in November 1995, easyJet has grown from a Luton (London) base offering two routes from Luton to Glasgow and Edinburgh to an airline with 69 aircraft currently in their fleet offering 105 routes to 38 airports in 35 cities across Europe. easyJet keeps costs low by eliminating the unnecessary costs and frills which characterize traditional airlines. In 2003, easyJet has a number of main operating bases and employs over 3,000 people. Goodrich has been a world leader in the design, development, and manufacture of commercial, military, regional, and business aircraft wheels and brakes for more than 50 years. It has created innovative braking systems for over 200 types of aircraft during this half century and has many more technological improvements in development. Goodrich Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, is a leading global supplier of systems and services to the aerospace industry. If there's an aircraft in the sky - we're on it. Goodrich technology is involved in making aircraft fly ... helping them land ... and keeping them safe. Serving a global customer base with significant worldwide manufacturing and service facilities, Goodrich is one of the largest "pure play" aerospace companies in the world.
