Goodrich and U.S. Air Force Enter Long-Term Agreement for Landing Gear

CHARLOTTE, N.C., /PRNewswire/ -- The United States Air Force (USAF) and Goodrich Corporation (NYSE: GR) have established a long-term agreement to support Department of Defense (DoD) and commercial landing gear requirements. The agreement will encompass a variety of joint workloads including F-16 and C-17. The purpose of this agreement is to promote landing gear technology development and transfer. According to Scott Reynolds, Deputy Chief, Commodities Repair Division of the USAF, "Working with industry is an integral element of the USAF's Long Term Depot Maintenance Strategy presented to Congress last September. The USAF's strategy advocates better support to the war fighter through the seamless integrated use of both the public and private capability." "Hill Air Force Base manages all of the USAF's landing gear maintenance requirements and Goodrich is the Original Equipment Manager for all USAF landing gear systems. It makes sense that our two organizations would come together in an effort such as this -- it provides a foundation to allow for seamless flow of communication," said Barry Beffort, Director of Business Development for Goodrich's Landing Gear Services team. The Ogden Air Logistics Center Commander, Maj. Gen. Scott Bergren and Goodrich's President of Landing Systems, Brian Gora signed the Agreement on Feb. 5 during a special ceremony at Hill Air Force Base.
