Outstanding Reseach and Outstanding Paper Awards For CAFS members

Outstanding Reseach and Outstanding Paper Awards For CAFS members Dr. Ajay Mahajan, a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Energy Processes and associated with the center, was awarded the Dean Juh Wah Chen Outstanding Research Paper Award for 2003 in the College of Engineering. Dr. Tsuchin Chu, a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Energy Processes and also associated with CAFS, was a co-author for the paper. The award winning paper was: Unnikrishnan, N., Mahajan, A. and Chu, T., "Intelligent System Modelling of a Three Dimensional Ultrasonic Positioning System using Neural Networks and Genetic Algorithms, " Journal of Systems and Control Engineering, Vol. 217, Part I, May 2003, pp. 367-377. Dr. Mahajan was also awarded the Outstanding Teacher Award for the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Energy Processes for 2003-2004 academic year. The awards were presented at the College of Engineering annual banquet on March 01, 2004. Dr. Paul Chugh, who also is associated with CAFS research, patented a new technology of waste management.
